Christyna De Lude (Nyna) is a Decatur resident who joined the Moultrie Counseling team in 2022. Nyna graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree Magna Cum Laude in Psychology in May 2021 from the University of Illinois-Springfield.
Nyna is currently a graduate student at Eastern Illinois University obtaining her Master’s in School Counseling in which she will earn dual licensure in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling. After graduation, Nyna began her counseling career at Camp Little Giant working with children and youth with disabilities. She then went on to work with individuals with substance use disorders in a Clinical Support Specialist role. Concluding that position, she worked as a Shelter Specialist for DOVE, Inc. in Decatur, IL. During her time with DOVE, INC, Nyna provided shelter residents with individual counseling, co-facilitated a Domestic Violence Education group, created a support group, and eventually became a Legal Advocate for domestic violence victims. Prior to joining Moultrie Counseling in 2022, Nyna worked at Growing Strong Sexual Assault Center as a Sexual Assault Counselor providing support services to survivors and the loved ones of survivors. Nyna is passionate about serving the needs of all individuals but primarily works with children, adolescents, and young adults. Nyna enjoys utilizing methods such as play therapy, art therapy, and sand tray therapy as well as utilizing nature in her sessions. Nyna believes that mindfulness and grounding are essential pieces of therapy. In her free time, Nyna enjoys expressive arts such as photography and creative writing and spends time in nature hiking and kayaking. Nyna believes that it is imperative to surround herself with individuals who are passionate, creative, and enjoy helping and supporting others. |
