Brett was an intern at Moultrie County Counseling during his final year in Eastern Illinois University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program; as of May 2026, he has joined our full time staff as a licensed counselor and enjoys working with children and adults of all ages! Prior to joining our team, Brett also attended EIU for a Bachelor's in Human Services with minors in Aging Studies and Financial Literacy. He also has experience with HOPE of East Central Illinois, additional community mental health, and worked in a daycare setting for 3 years.
Brett finds comfort in meeting clients where they’re at and believes each client requires unique attention and care. Brett looks forward to working with clients of all ages and presenting issues. Utilizing a largely cognitive behavioral approach with adolescents and adults, Brett values goal oriented work while providing patience, empathy, and awareness. Brett is trained in child-centered play therapy and believes in fostering a team approach with parents and guardians to help improve the quality of life for children in services. Brett is from Jerseyville, IL. When not at work, he likes to spend time at home with his cat, Marbles. He also enjoys trying new coffee drinks, doing crafts, journaling, and listening to music. |
